Legal Imaginarium: law for life

Law has largely been built around human interests: what we can own, what we owe each other and what we are allowed to do. Legal Imaginarium led by lawyer David Hunter, is creating a space for lawyers to explore what law becomes when the living world is brought into the picture. It brings together lawyers from large firms to experiment with more adaptive forms of legal practice, including what the behaviour of living systems might teach us about rules, relationships and responsibility. The legal imaginarium is somewhere lawyers can step outside the conventions of their profession and develop legal ideas that aren’t centred solely on humans and ownership. Emergence supports Legal Imaginarium to develop and test its first programmes with lawyers.
