Education doesn’t just teach subjects; it shapes how young people understand their place in the world. Yet much of it is still organised around preparing individuals to compete in an economy, rather than understanding their relationships with one another and the living world. Global Action Plan (GAP) and SOS-UK are exploring what changes when interdependence becomes a starting point for education. Bringing together networks spanning primary schools to universities, they are testing what this could mean for what is taught, how students learn and how educational institutions operate. Emergence supports them to involve more students and educators in this work and build the case for a different approach to education.
