How we build reflects what we value and how we relate to the places we live. Material Cultures combines design and research with practical work to challenge a culture of construction based on extraction and waste. This approach is taking institutional form at Tipping Point East in East London, a new climate futures centre co-founded by Material Cultures, Yes Make and RESOLVE Collective. It brings research and making together in a place where new materials and ways of building can be developed, taught and tested. Emergence Trust supports training for local communities and construction professionals in natural materials and bioregional building.
