Most schools teach students about nature, but few are organised around an understanding that humans are part of it. They treat nature as a separate subject, rather than the context for life itself. The Harmony Project is developing an approach to education in which ecological relationships become a foundation for learning rather than a subject within it. Working with schools and teachers, it connects learning across the curriculum through principles found in the natural world, including cycles, diversity and interdependence. Emergence Trust supports the Harmony Project to develop its approach across 120 primary schools in Wales, creating teaching materials rooted in the Welsh landscape.
