Disagreement can easily turn into an argument between ‘us’ and ‘them’. Larger Us works with the psychology underneath that: what makes people move quickly into opposing camps, and what helps them stay connected across differences. It develops practical ways for people to listen, disagree and work together without flattening what separates them. Emergence supports Larger Us to bring this work to Hartlepool, working alongside local leaders and community groups. Through this work, we hope to learn more about what helps people work across divides, even when they see the world differently.
