Britain’s folklore is full of stories about rivers, forests, hills and the beings that inhabit them. These stories shaped how people understood their relationship with a place and what mattered there. Dreams for Britain asks what stories we tell about today’s Britian, and what stories we could tell about a future Britian. It brings together local councils, community leaders and artist collectives. They share cultural stories and objects and together,  build three-dimensional maps of an imagined future. Emergence supports this experiment in Portsmouth, York and Glasgow. Through this work, we hope to learn more about how people working across different fields and perspectives can come together to collectively imagine and start to create an alternative future.
